I would say that EVE has made me a better (note better, not nicer) person then i used to be.
I have always been as polite as i possibly could, and when i was a kid i dident even dare to take apples from my grandmothers apple tree without asking for permission first 
I could never say my opinions, was very shy and in general just do whatever i was told to do and not question it.
Now i will argue like mad with corp members and trust me if they do something i disagre with i have no issues telling them "Your being an idiot!". Well ok i word it a bit more politely but still..
I guess in a way you can count this as me having become more "evil" since i dont spend 100% of my time agreeing with everyone just because i dont want to be rude or..displease them.
Ofc this has also affected me in real life, which has been both good and bad depending on who you ask 
But what you mean with "evil"... I dont think its as much that people become more hostile or agressive when playing EVE. EVE simply allows them a much more free form of gameplay then most games, and since this is the only game that allows for scams/thefts/havoc on this scale i think more people come here because they want to TRY this form of play.
And ofc when you are new and so many older players will tell you "Become a pirate! Everything else is boring!" it also implements the mindset early on that you have to pretend to be "evil" to be counted as "cool" by some EVE players.
And it dosent even have to be EVE players. At one point years ago we had a new player join the corp. He was happy just doing mining and was thrilled about getting his first hauler. Now also note this person was younger in real life then your average EVE player which most likely affected things. So some of his friends had been watching him play and were teasing him about how "boring" things were and asking why he dident do something cool like blowing people up. Atleast this is the reason he gave us after it was discovered that he had sold the war targets all the information he had about us (member list, eve mails, online times and so on) for a (i still cant believe this) t1 frig and a 200k hardwire
So as you can see... in some cases it can be pure group pressure and the need to be accepted in your commenty that can make people do things they would never do in real life. Ofc you would think that most adults would be imune to group pressure or the need to "be just like everyone else", but the next time some big scandal happens in EVE, you can be pretty sure there is more then one person in there screaming for justice without really understanding what they are supposed to be uspet about.
